This is a new category.
I am going to be adding “How Tos” here to help you build your own instruments.
This is how the biscuit is connected to the “resonator” (actually a sieve from the kitchen but you can use what you want).
I used this method on the Elmfield Spaghetti Western and The Elmfield Transonator
It’s quite obvious from the picture, but look at the pictures of The Spaghetti Western if anything is unclear. The most important things are; don’t make the recess in the biscuit too big for the nut – I drill a 11mm hole for a nut that fits on a 6mm threaded rod – otherwise it will turn when tightening. The second thing is; make sure you have enough wood left under the nut; at least 5mm – more would be better.
Also, please remember, this isn’t the way a real resonator guitar is made, this is the way I make a kind of pseudo-resonator, does sound twangy though, it’s fun and cheap to build and looks very good!
